The original track, released in 2024, became a massive hit, earning Song of the Year accolades across various radio stations and streaming platforms. It was a standout collaboration between Tebogo Mashego, Focalistic, Mr Pilato, Scotts Maphuma, and DJ Maphorisa, capturing the essence of the Amapiano movement.

However, the reception to the remix hasn’t been entirely positive. After Maphorisa shared a snippet of Davido’s verse, many fans expressed disappointment, with some urging him not to release the remix at all.
