Kenyan comedian Njugush, known for his sharp wit, has once again left his fans in stitches with a comedic imitation of businessman Jimi Wanjigi’s bold speech to President William Ruto. Wanjigi, who had recently resurfaced after going into hiding, delivered the speech following a High Court decision that prevented his arrest. In his defiant address, Wanjigi challenged the government to summon him if they had any evidence of his involvement in criminal activities.
On August 9, Wanjigi made a public appearance at his Muthaiga residence, accompanied by his wife, Irene Nzisa, and a team of lawyers. During the press briefing, he stood firm, daring the government to find him if they could, and mocking their previous failed attempts.
Njugush, never one to miss a comedic opportunity, quickly recreated the scene with his own humorous twist. Standing alongside his wife, Celestine Ndinda, who played a supportive role just like Irene Nzisa, Njugush delivered his parody with mock seriousness that had his fans in hysterics.
Adopting a stern tone, Njugush began, “I have a few things to say. They are trying to look for me everywhere, but they won’t find me. You tried. They are trying to look for me on the website, but they won’t find me. You tried the last four years... Sisi si watoto bwana.”
The skit was complete with a running text at the bottom of the screen, similar to the news highlights seen during Wanjigi’s original speech. The text humorously roasted Njugush’s friends, Abel Mutua and Butita, adding another layer of comedy to the performance.
Njugush’s video was met with widespread applause from fans, who praised the comedian for his creativity and timely humor. This latest sketch adds to Njugush’s growing repertoire of comedy that often reflects current events, earning him a dedicated following across Kenya
