Media personality, Adelle Onyango recently shared her battle with suicidal thoughts and mental and physical anguish. The former radio personality shared how her intense work schedule led to a downward spiral that left her feeling mentally exhausted, with a long list of symptoms that pushed her to seek professional help. Reflecting on her experience, she described the heavy toll that overworking had taken on her well-being. "Towards the end of last year, I learned just how connected one’s mental health is with one’s physical health," she explained. Despite achieving numerous career milestones and ticking off tasks from her to-do list, she was battling severe exhaustion. She said the breaking point came after a work trip to New York. "As soon as I came back, my body and mind collapsed," Adelle opens up. The symptoms were overwhelming: suicidal thoughts, extreme insomnia, lack of appetite, poor gut health, and an overall lack of motivation. "It was excruciating and confusing as I hadn’t experienced this before," she added. It wasn’t until a concerned friend suggested she see a doctor that she began her journey toward recovery. She consulted a general practitioner at a wellness-focused clinic. According to Adelle, the consultation felt more like a therapy session. The doctor diagnosed her with low-functioning depression, which stemmed from a combination of sleep deprivation and poor gut health. Following the diagnosis, she began a treatment plan designed to restore her sleep and gut health. Just three weeks into the prescribed medication, she began to feel like herself again. "I also got tips from her on what I can do to help my mental health and physical health," she said,
