The week-long event will occur at the Wildlife Research and Training Institute, Naivasha, Nakuru County. It will celebrate the rich history and enduring legacy of the Ancient Nile Valley Civilization of Kush. It will offer attendees a unique opportunity to reconnect with one of Africa’s greatest civilizations and take pride in our shared cultural heritage. The Kingdom of Kush, a powerful ancient civilization that flourished in what is now modern-day Sudan, played a pivotal role in shaping African and world history. Renowned for their advanced society, architectural marvels, and influential trade networks, the Kushites left an enduring legacy that continues to inspire and intrigue. The Kush Cultural Festival is designed to appeal to all ages, with various activities that promise to captivate and educate. Key highlights of the festival include workshops for School-Aged Children sessions, which will delve into Kush’s archaeology, art, and music, offering young learners an immersive experience that brings ancient history to life. There will also be a living ancient Kush street which will have a vibrant marketplace and feature artisans and vendors showcasing traditional crafts, providing a hands-on opportunity to engage with the Kushites' cultural practices. During the festival, attendees will also witness the coronation of the Kings and Queens Ceremony which is a symbolic and majestic event that honors Kush's leadership traditions, allowing attendees to witness a re-enactment of ancient coronation rituals.
