Mary Wambua, a Kenyan businesswoman, recently went viral on Facebook after responding to criticism about her academic performance.
Mary Wambua, the founder of MaryBee Designers, was accused by a Kenyan woman living abroad of having scored a low grade in her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). To refute these claims, Wambua shared her KCSE and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) certificates online, proving she completed her KCSE with a C plain, not a D as alleged.
Wambua expressed her surprise at the attention her post received, stating, "The only thing I was thinking about is how to defend myself. I did not think my post would garner as much attention as it did." She also mentioned considering legal action against the woman for defamation, which could harm her business reputation.
Kenyans have supported Wambua, congratulating her for standing up for herself. Some comments included praise for her perseverance and success despite the criticisms.
In related news, TikTok user Queen Paloma humorously shared her KCSE results, joking about wedding requirements and showing pride in her performance
