Charlene Ruto, daughter of President William Ruto, recently urged elected leaders to step up and take charge of their responsibilities instead of relying solely on the president to handle everything. While in Mombasa, Charlene emphasized that county leaders have the power to implement various projects and should actively participate in good governance at the county level.
Charlene praised Mombasa Governor Sherrif Nassir for his leadership and encouraged other leaders to follow suit. She also took the opportunity to engage with the local youth, urging them to seek information and use their platforms to educate themselves. Charlene mentioned that she uses her social media to connect with and inform the younger generation.
During her visit, Charlene interacted with locals, including watching the Community Shield match between Manchester United and Manchester City alongside them. She commended a local businessman for airing the match, highlighting it as a great way to support the community.
A few weeks earlier, Charlene had sparked discussions by claiming that she was called by God to serve the youth of Kenya. Despite receiving both praise and criticism, she remains committed to her mission, stating that her purpose is clear and unrelated to her appearance.
Charlene’s call to action is a reminder to leaders across the country to actively participate in governance and work towards the betterment of their communities.
