Franklin Wallah has been appointed as the new Crime & Investigations Editor at Citizen TV, succeeding Hassan Mugambi.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Daystar University.
Wallah's career began as a salesperson at Coca-Cola and has evolved through roles in cinematography and journalism.
Career Journey:
Wallah started as a salesperson at Coca-Cola in 2014 and later worked as a brand ambassador for Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and an event coordinator at Daystar University.
He ventured into cinematography at West TV and the Parliament Broadcasting Unit.
His journalism career began at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and expanded to investigative reporting at K24TV and KTN.
Notable Achievements:
Wallah led K24's investigative series 'Jicho Langu,' covering critical issues such as gender-based violence and murder cases.
Recent projects include covering the Mukuru Kwa Njenga killings for Citizen TV.
Citizen TV Revamp:
The station is working to revitalize its newsroom by bringing in new talent, following the departure of several top reporters for political roles and other opportunities.
