Kenyan Musician Peter 'Miracle Baby' Mwangi has officially embraced a new identity as Pastor Peter Mwangi.
The musician announced his transformation on social media, sharing a video of his anointing by Apostle John Paul. "Thank you Apostle John Paul for making me an official pastor. Sasa ni kumtumikia Mungu vilivyo (I will serve the Lord)," he wrote.
This change fulfills a vow he made while hospitalized with a severe gastrointestinal infection. After battling the illness and undergoing three surgeries, which accumulated Kshs 1.6 million in medical bills, Mwangi promised to serve God if he recovered.
Throughout his illness, Mwangi has been open about his struggles on social media. His wife, Carol Katrue, also a fellow artist, appealed for financial help, which was supported by well-wishers and other artists, including KRG The Don.
Mwangi's transition to becoming a pastor has sparked a discussion about the qualifications needed to become a clergyman in Kenya. Some people have questioned the ease of the process, while others support Mwangi's decision, believing that his near-death experience led him to a genuine commitment to his faith.
"This is good, you promised God so our God is happy, may you serve him all the days of your life," commented a social media user.
